Windows XP and Vista Registry Cleaners, Are They At All Useful?

When looking for a way to improve the performance of your PC, don’t overlook the importance of a good registry cleaner. This tool is a must for getting a slowing computer back up to speed as well as preventing errors and crashes. Seeing that a registry cleaner is such a great thing to have around makes me really confused as to why some people advise against using one!

In this article, I will argue in favor of registry cleaners and show how I use them to overcome registry corruption. This registry corruption will slow a computer’s operating capabilities and possibly make a PC not only very slow and error prone, but sometimes inoperable.

Windows Registries Corrupt Easily

It is true there are some registry cleaners available that are not very good, but usually these are free cleaners and like with anything else, you get what you pay for. Still, cleaning a computer’s registry with the right registry cleaner can get a computer that is slow and crashing on occasion back up and running at 100% speed and error free once again.

Though spyware and viruses are often the problem when a computer starts to act up, I’ve seen many cases where it was registry corruption that was the culprit. So, when registry corruption is the problem, what else can you do except clean it out?

New OS’s Need To Be Corruption Free

It is true, registry corruption wasn’t very much of a consideration a few years back. However, now with the huge file systems Windows XP and Vista operate under, it takes a long times for one operation to take place when it has to work through corruption. I know this may not make sense, but one piece of corruption will probably only affect a small area of a small operating system. However, the same amount of corruption will affect many areas in a large operating system. That is just the way it is.

Without cleaning corruption out of a PC, it will become slower and slower. In time, it will commit errors and eventually the “blue screen of death becomes inevitable!

Registry Cleaners Are a Good Thing

I’d like to know what anybody who doesn’t use registry cleaners does when they run into problems with their computers that are caused by registry corruption, because I’ve seen a good registry cleaner solve problems with poorly functioning computers 100′s of times!

In any event, the first thing I do when I encounter a slow computer is make sure there is no spyware or viruses present. Then, once I know the PC is free of these things and it still does not perform normally, a registry scan is the next logical step.

Of course, if there is no registry corruption, you will have to bring the computer to a professional. However, I have fixed many a sick computer with a registry cleaning, so I suggest you make sure you have no corruption before you bring your computer to before you bring it to the repair shop.
